So today I put all my post ideas for my blog in a hat (literally!) and pulled the first five and this was #1! When I start making videos, I will be pulling from the hat on camera! *sqee*

So I decided to put the singles, trios, 5pc and 10pc to the test. A battle of the shadows, so to speak.

I will review each individually and then compare them.

All swatches are done on a NYX Liquid Makeup base in LM07.

SINGLE EYESHADOW - $5.00

Packaging: <3<3<3<3<3
Price: <3<3<3<3<3
Quality: <3<3<3<3<3
Pigmentation: <3<3<3<3<3
Feel: <3<3<3<3<3
Overall: <3<3<3<3<3
Would I purchase again? I would and I will!

Packaging - Some people don't like the packaging, but I have had no problems with it. It's easy to open but secure enough that it doesn't open on it's own. I feel that the singles are secure in their containers.

Price - $5.00 - The price is about the same as a drugstore single eyeshadow. There are cheaper shadows, I know! But for this quality, I feel the price is suitable.

Quality - I love the overall quality of these shadows. The staying power is tremendous! I had to scrub my arm like crazy to get the black off!

- Pigmentation -

L to R: Black, Cherry, Purple, White
These colors were swatched with a brush, 2 sweeps, no double dipping!

The pigmentation of the singles are unbelievable! The black is actually BLACK! No need to build up color, but the only thing I can see as a drawback is (with the black, of course) you have to have a light hand.

Feel - I have not met a single shadow that has felt chalky. (I actually have about 20 of the singles) They are really smooth! They are easy to blend out and very workable with other colors.
(lol, they play well with others!)

Overall - I really love these shadows, and I plan on owning all 160 of them... Hey, a girl can dream!
The only con I can think of is that when you buy one, you only get -one-

TRIO EYESHADOW - $8.00

Packaging: <3<3<3<3
Price: <3<3<3<3<3
Quality: <3<3<3
Pigmentation: <3<3<3
Feel: <3<3<3
Overall: <3<3<3<3
Would I purchase again? If they had a color that I fell in love with, then maybe.
(I still want the Lake Moss Trio!)

Packaging - I love the matte finish to them! No fingerprints all over it! I have had some trouble with opening these. They can be a bit finicky! I have also wiped down one of my trios (the packaging) with an alcohol prep pad and it bleached the plastic! Prolly my fault, but as a warning, don't do it! They seem sturdy enough, but I am afraid if I drop one, it might not survive.

Price - $8.00 - Not bad at all for three shadows. That comes out to about $2.66 a shadow!

Quality - I haven't had any problems with staying power with the trios. It's just getting them to where you want them to be that can be hard.

- Pigmentation -

L to R: Bronze, Rust, Copper - Black, Grey, White

The Black/Grey/White Trio was my very first NYX item. I was please with them until I got a second trio. I don't know if it's a matte shadow thing, but I bought the singles in Black and White and BOY! The difference is CRAZY! (Scroll back up and check it out!)

The pigmentation of the other trios I have are not as bad as the black/grey/white one but I wasn't blown away by the pigmentation of the others either.

Feel - Ok, so I feel like I'm judging all the trios based on the black/grey/white trio, but I can't help it. It's bad. It's not like the others, that's for sure. It might be a fluke item? It is SO CHALKY! It makes me sad to say that I hate it, but I kinda do.

The other ones aren't silky smooth but they aren't chalky either. Kind of a nice middle ground.

Overall - If there was a trio I needed to have (Lake Moss Trio!!!! GAH!) I would purchase again, but otherwise I would make due with the other shadows NYX has to offer.

THE CARIBBEAN COLLECTION 5pc PALETTE

Packaging: <3<3<3<3<
Price: <3<3<3<3<3
Quality: <3<3<3<3<3
Pigmentation: <3<3<3<3<3
Feel: <3<3<3<3<3
Overall: <3<3<3<3<3
Would I purchase again? I have to own them all!!!!

Packaging - I love this sturdy package! I just hate that it's got a shine to it, fingerprints galore! I have no problems opening the package, or having it open on accident.

Price - $8.00 - That's a deal in itself! Five shadows for $8 comes to about $1.60 a pop! Super affordable!

Quality - The staying power of the ESP5C is great! No problems!

- Pigmentation -

OH... MAH.... GAWD....!!! One swipe! I swear!

The colors are even more vibrant in person if you can believe that! I was a tad disappointed with the yellow, though. It wasn't as pigmented as the others, but it's got quite a bit nonetheless. (The picture doesn't do these justice at all!)

Feel - So creamy! These shadows literally feel like a cream to dry type... but without actually being cream to begin with.

Overall - With the price, and overall quality in the bag, I plan on purchasing every single one of these 5pc Palettes!

...and last but not least...

FOR YOUR EYES ONLY/ THE RUNWAY COLLECTION
10pc Palettes - $9.00

Packaging: <3<3<3<3<
Price: <3<3<3<3<3
Quality: <3<3<3<3<3
Pigmentation: <3<3<3<3<3
Feel: <3<3<3<3<
Overall: <3<3<3<3<
Would I purchase again? Yes!

Packaging - Same as the Caribbean Collection, great package, just shiny and finger printy!

Price - $9.00 for 10 shadows... $0.90 a piece?! That's just nuts. And awesome. All at the same time!

Quality - I wore this set for my first NYX party. I was a wreck with anxiety and it was so hot in my house with 12 people sitting in my living room. My eyes water at the outer corner, but it did not budge! I was sincerely impressed and so were my guests!

- Pigmentation -

So pretty!

All of the colors are super pigmented! Even the lighter colors are crazy!

Feel - One or two of the colors I was a little unhappy with. A little chalky! The others however, were creamy like the 5pc palette.

Overall - I love how the Smokey Eye Palette isn't just blacks and greys. I love the blues and browns in it as well. makes the palette very versatile, giving lots of color combinations to play with.

Scores:
Singles - <3<3<3<3<
Trios:<3<3<3<3
5pc:<3<3<3<3<3
10pc:<3<3<3<3<

Congratulations to the 5pc Palettes!! You have won... um.... something.

Thanks for reading this extremely long post, but I hope you got something out of it!
